The Royal International Air Tattoo
Case Study
The Royal International Air Tattoo is the world’s largest military airshow, held annually at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire in support of The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust. The show typically attracts in the region of 150,000 visitors over the weekend.
For this event, identilam produced photo ID badges for the team of 2,000 volunteers and support staff. The bulk of the badges were printed in advance at our bureau ID card production facility with the Trust hiring 2 x Badge&Print systems with our Doppie printers for on-site badge printing and re-issues.
Control of access to secure areas of the airfield is paramount and each badge was printed with a series of colour symbols and text to denote which zones each volunteer was authorised to access. This was achieved using the embellishments feature in our software.
The Trust opted for our credit card PVC badges, perfect for the unpredictable outdoor weather. These were worn using our opaque rigid card holders with pin and clip attachment and lanyards.
