Aviva Stadium

Case Study

On May 18th, Dublin’s Aviva Stadium was the venue for the UEFA Europa League Final. This impressive national sports arena, seating 50,000, opened its doors in May last year and so far has collected five architecture and design awards as well as local and national impact awards.

With twenty or more high profile events each year, Aviva Stadium needs to produce security passes for press, crew and contractors, amounting to around 400 – 500 people each event, with variable access rights.

Rose Michael of Lamination Services, identilam’s strategic partner in Ireland, explains what was needed by the client:

The requirement was for a large format badge to allow for a large photo, easily readable personal information and high impact presentation of access rights (into up to 10 areas). identilam’s Badge&Print system fitted the bill perfectly. The client opted for an A6 paper pass, with a custom design foil logo for security. The software made it easy to link the access rights for each badge holder into the pass design.

A further requirement was to be as environmentally and commercially sustainable as possible, so identilam supplied re-usable rigid PVC card holders and lanyards made from recycled PET.

Deirdre O’Sullivan from the Operations Team at Aviva Stadium said, “We chose the system from identilam as it is flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of our business whilst staying user friendly and reliable.
