The Queen's Diamond Jubilee

Case Study

For the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in central London in June 2012 identilam provided an online registration and event badge production service for the accreditation of UK and international media, crew and sub-contractors.

identilam was responsible for accreditation data collection & handling, production of photo accreditation badges & holders, plus an on-site services for late accreditations and amendments.

Our web-based software was utilised for online accreditation applications and Badge&Print for management of accredited data and printing of photo badges; the system was adapted to accommodate client specific requirements.

Thousands of applications were completed and submitted for approval from over 250 organisations worldwide. Authorised users were able to monitor the status of their own group of applicants and send email reminders to individuals whose applications were incomplete. Direct 24/7 access to data enabled organisers to see at a glance how many applications had been received and calculate the anticipated numbers of attendees.

There was a total of 11 accreditation pass designs, all generated 100% from the software and automatically allocated to avoid erroneous selection. Passes were printed on bio-degradable PVC and worn in a recyclable PVC wallet, with safety breakaway printed lanyards.

From 28th May to 5th June our systems were operational on-site in the accreditation offices in Green Park, Constitution Hill and Link Road. On issue each accreditation pass was scanned with a barcode reader to enable reporting on the time and date of collection using the identilam Badge&Track system. The systems were also used for printing vehicle passes, personalised with vehicle details and collected as part of the accreditation process.

Robbie Williams Productions, the concert producers, and a customer of identilam since 2006, were also operating their systems on site to produce passes for contractors requiring access to the backstage compound.
